Why have they ignored the freedom protests in Europe for 6 months?
Hundreds of thousands have taken part in freedom protests for over 6 months now, and it has been largely ignored by the media.
People all over Europe and across the world have for 29 weeks straight protested for freedom. From small picturesque villages in France and Switzerland, to some of the biggest cities in the world like London and Paris, people have come together to stand for freedom.
It started last summer after the introduction of covid passports to be allowed to continue doing everyday things. The protests in France were enormous, with hundreds of thousands turning up there alone.
The protests spread all over Europe, to the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Britain and the Czech Republic to name a few. The protests have even spread to Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Every weekend hundreds of thousands of people all over Europe took to the streets to protest for freedom. Yet the weird thing is that it has barely been on the news. Why?
These protests are historic. I cannot think of any other freedom protest that has had so many people take part in it for such a long period of time. We are talking over half a year of continuous protest. Is this a world record? Possibly. One would think this would be bigger news.
I have been reporting on these protests and it is has been incredibly difficult to find much information on the media about them. And I know for a fact that it is not because they somehow don’t know about the protests taking place.
Recently I headed down to the Norwegian capital of Oslo to report on a freedom protest that was taking place there. It was a large protest. Thousands of people had gathered in central Oslo.
And the mainstream media was there! I even chatted with a camera guy from a well known Norwegian news channel who was there filming the protest. So there is no doubt that the media was aware of the protest taking place. They were literally there.
Now here is the weird part. After the protest it was next to impossible to find any news outlets reporting on the story. What’s going on here? The media were there, but decided to not publish the news anyway?
And keep in mind that this was a large protest, thousands of people marching through the streets of Oslo shouting for freedom. Consider that Norway is a country with a small population. A protest of this size is quite big for this country and definitely newsworthy.
The march was escorted by two police horses and a police car, paving the way for the protesters. The march ended outside of the Norwegian parliament where the people waved the Norwegian flag and sang the national anthem together.
Now please explain to me how this isn’t newsworthy? I mean they were literally there getting footage of it, but decided to not write any stories about it anyway. I have seen firsthand how the media apparently seems to have a blackout on these freedom protests.
It has been the same all over Europe. The massive protests have barely gotten any media attention.
However, with the Canadian freedom truckers it has been hard for the media to ignore. With thousands of trucks forming a convoy reportedly almost 50 miles long, rolling in to Ottawa honking their horns, it is kinda hard to ignore.
The people of Canada see the truckers for themselves and would find it weird if the media didn’t report on it.
So the media have reported on the Canadian freedom truckers and they resorted to calling them names. What happened to real journalism, where you are supposed to simply report the facts without an agenda?
We need more of that kind of journalism, where the facts are reported to the people and people can then make up their own mind of what to think, rather than having a journalist telling people what to think.
Or as in the case of Europe where the media have simply seemingly had a blackout on the protests in the first place, so many people have been unaware of what has taken place.
