Now they want a climate tax on cow burps and farts
New Zealand wants a climate tax on sheep and cattle to reduce methane emissions from the animals.
Burping cows must be stopped to save the planet!
This may sound like something taken from a satire website or ridiculous comedy sketch. But no, it is not.
The country of New Zealand has unveiled a new climate tax targeting sheep and cows. Why you may ask?
Well, because of all their burps and farts.
You see, cows have such powerful burps and farts that they can change the atmosphere of the earth. Indeed, cows have such fiery flatulence and burps that they can increase the temperature of our planet!
This kind of rude behavior cannot be tolerated by the state in New Zealand. They want to crack down on all this burping and farting by introducing a new climate tax.
Under this new proposal, farmers in New Zealand will have to pay a tax on their animals methane gas emissions from 2025.
This methane gas is something that climate change fanatics are not happy about. Most of the methane emitted from the animals are from burps, but a small amount is also emitted from their farts.
"There is no question that we need to cut the amount of methane we are putting into the atmosphere, and an effective emissions pricing system for agriculture will play a key part in how we achieve that." said Climate Change Minister James Shaw.
Oh great, we have climate change ministers now.
The funny thing is, even the BBC admits that around 40% of methane emitted in the world actually comes from natural sources such as wetlands. So even if we reduce the methane emissions from cows, there is still going to be a huge amount of methane emitted into the world naturally.
What this new tax will naturally do, is to increase food prices for consumers. Just like what always happens when the state intervenes with more taxes...
New Zealand actually tried to do this before in 2003, but it was vehemently opposed by the farming industry and the proposal was withdrawn.
It would not surprise me if soon we will get a tax on eating meat, to save the climate of course. Perhaps even a way to track how much meat you eat, say a climate change passport!
Oh, in Norway the state already wants to track citizens food purchases as I reported on in my earlier Substack post...
So they are now going after cows, trying to blame them for being "bad for the environment".
In fact, cows are actually important to the environment because they graze the land, eating plants that humans cannot eat, which in turn then give us nutrient rich foods like milk, butter and meat.
Also, lets not forget about cow manure, an effective fertilizer so that we can grow more crops for humans to eat.
Cows are important. But the climate change fanatics want to try and take away things that have been important for humanity. If they had their way, we would probably be going back to the middle ages.
Now we are getting more state intervention that will raise food prices. We are already seeing record inflation and sky high fertilizer prices. Getting yet more taxes will just raise prices further, not exactly what is needed now.
We have now reached the point where climate change fanatics want to tax cow burps and farts. I don't think I really need to say more.
cows have a negative effect on the climate. but their private jets and endless wars are just fine.
Since masking was so effective in curbing covid, can't we just mask the butts of livestock?
